GOLDEN FIG’S NAME
We chose the name Golden Fig because it’s a native tree in Florida, actually it’s the only state in the U.S. where they grow, and our restaurant’s concept is built around natural assets indigenous to the region. Golden Figs have a mutualistic relationship with wasps for their pollination, similar to our partnerships with local farmers and artisans. Much like our restaurant, they provide valuable habitat and food for other species, fostering camaraderie and evolution in their ecosystem. Lastly, figs have historically been symbols of prosperity and sophistication – both of which are reflected in our food, service, and setting.
We are a casual farmhouse restaurant with a market-based menu of regional & seasonal produce, pasture-raised meats, and a skillfully curated craft beer and wine list served in a comfortable rustic setting.
